We had a lovely luncheon (arranged by Karen Phelps) at LUSC on Tuesday.
Afterwards we had the Awards Ceremony and the semi-finalists and winners of the DIOTY 2023 were announced.
I would like to congratulate the semi-finalists as well as the winners of this competition. John Smith won two categories : Nature and Open Colour with his Eastern Spine-bill in the Grevillea and Mud-Play…both beautiful images.
Lindie Kolver won Top Image in Mono with her Mischievous little Boy as well as Top Image of the Competition.
There were lots of laughter and gaiety in the beautifully decorated room LUSC prepared for us. Yummy food too. We had a nice ‘studio’ where we took couple’s photographs. Thank you Frank Kolver, Steve Phelps and John Upton for blowing up 50 balloons and Karen Phelps for arranging them in an artful garland.
Bruce Lawrence won ‘Rookie of the Year’ and took home a Trophy and the Paul Barron prize. Thank you , Pauli, for your generosity. Much appreciated.
Thank you to Harry Bryant and John Shaw for helping me with the editing & printing of the Set Subject cards in October. John Shaw also produced and printed the beautiful awards certificates for the category winners. I know I can always depend on help from these two – much appreciated.
